What started out as a diabetic emergency led police in Port Charlotte to a drug house and drug bust.
Officials were called to the home on Brooklyn Avenue Sunday for a man having a diabetic attack.

Once on scene, officers found 33-year-old Russell Gerow and 26-year-old Jessica Vandegaart in the driveway, along with a clear baggie and pills by his feet.

After the bags tested positive for opiates, officers got a search warrant for the home and found meth, cocaine, marijuana, cash, and a number of pills.

In all, four people were charged with possession- Vandegaart faces trafficking charges.
