The Sarasota County Sheriff’s deputy accused of stealing from and trying to kill an elderly woman has been officially terminated following an administrative investigation. Frankie Bybee had served 18 years at the sheriff’s office. He was arrested last week. Bybee is charged with stealing 65-thousand dollars from the 79-year-old victim and attempted murder by forcing pills down her throat to make her death look like a suicide. The woman survived. The Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office say something that came up during their investigation of Bybee has prompted them to place another deputy, Carson Plank, on leave. The sheriff’s office did not elaborate.
