A Venice woman, along with the daughter of North Port Mayor Vanessa Carusone, were arrested last week, trying to transport more than 100 pounds of marijuana from Nebraska to Florida.
26-year old Kristin Schultz and 27-year old Felicia D’Angeleo- the mayor’s daughter- were pulled over in a traffic stop near Lincoln, NE last week. A K9 detected the presence of drugs in their SUV, and officers found three hockey bags full of marijuana in vacuum bags.
According to the Herald-Tribune, Schultz waived her Miranda rights and told police that she was transporting the marijuana back to Florida to sell. D’Angeleo also waived her Miranda rights and said she saw the marijuana being loaded and was helping to drive the vehicle back to Florida.
