Across Sarasota County Wednesday, cleanup efforts were underway after a fast-moving storm left damage in its wake. Tree damage was reported across much of Englewood, the roof of the Resort at Longboat Key Club was damaged and a skylight had broken, sending glass and water everywhere. Roads in Longboat Key were also blocked for a few hours Wednesday morning because of fallen limbs and flooding. Despite the damage, officials called yesterday ‘a good lesson’ to keep an eye on storms during hurricane season.
