A Florida Highway Patrol trooper and one other person are in the hospital after a crash on I-75 southbound this morning. The trooper had stopped at mile marker 134 to help someone with a disabled vehicle. A driver in a Mazda SUV then approached the area and swerved to the shoulder to not hit the car going slower in front of them. The driver hit the trooper’s SUV, which caused it to collide with the stalled car in front of it. The trooper and driver of the Mazda were taken to Lee Memorial Hospital for injuries. The driver of the stalled car was outside of the car and sustained a minor leg injury.
