A 69-year-old man was seriously injured this morning in a crash in North Port.
Around 7:30am, troopers say Louis Cochia was driving north in the left lane on U.S. 41, south of Ortiz Blvd, when he failed to stop for vehicles slowing down for traffic. He crashed into the back of a vehicle, which was then pushed into a third vehicle. The driver in the vehicle he hit is a 61-year-old North Port resident who suffered minor injuries. The driver in the third vehicle, a 67-year-old North Port resident, was uninjured. Cochia was cited for careless driving.
