A crash in Port Charlotte yesterday morning killed a man.
The highway patrol believes it involved an intoxicated driver.
It says 40-year-old Ryan McConnell of North Port drank before getting behind the wheel.
The crash happened on Atwater Street near Lorette Avenue.
The patrol has identified the deceased as 26-year-old Victor Meinitchouk of North Port.
It says McConnell drove the wrong way when he smashed his car into the front of Meinitchouk’s car.
It also says Meinitchouk’s passenger and McConnell went to Lee Memorial with serious injuries.
