Visit Sarasota County says it does not expect Zika to greatly affect tourism.
However, some businesses believe it could discourage people from visiting the area.
Robert Richards from the Old Salty Dog in Siesta Key says restaurants receive lots of tourists, but Zika could affect businesses the way that the BP spill did.
He tells WWSB-TV that while the spill did not directly affect local beaches, many people canceled their trips.
