After more than eleven years as a cornerstone of Bradenton’s Village of the Arts, Cottonmouth Southern Soul Kitchen relocated in July 2026 to Flamingo Bay Brewing Company at 1910 14th Street West. The move represents a strategic partnership between two independently operated Bradenton businesses, combining chef and owner Dave Shiplett’s renowned Southern comfort cuisine and live music program with Flamingo Bay’s craft brewery and spacious outdoor beer garden. The new location sits just one mile from the original cottage, keeping Cottonmouth close to its roots while opening up new possibilities for growth and guest experience.

What makes this relocation particularly meaningful is what Shiplett is preserving alongside what’s new. The restaurant continues its commitment to featuring local artists from the Village of the Arts, whose work is displayed and sold at the Flamingo Bay location. Live music remains central to the experience, with the larger venue allowing for performances that would have been difficult to host in the original intimate setting. Flamingo Bay’s existing blues, roots, Americana, and singer-songwriter calendar now benefits from Cottonmouth’s culinary reputation and entertainment draw. Operating hours are Thursday through Saturday 5-9 p.m. and Sunday 11 a.m.-9 p.m., giving Suncoast residents and visitors plenty of opportunities to experience the full package.

The partnership demonstrates how local enterprises can collaborate rather than compete, strengthening Bradenton’s reputation as a destination for independent food, craft beer, music, and arts. For longtime Cottonmouth fans and newcomers alike, the new location offers something worth experiencing: great Southern food, live entertainment, quality local beer, and a commitment to the community that brought the restaurant into being. Have you visited the new location yet, or are you planning to stop by soon?
