A North Port man was arrested Friday after he allegedly tried to solicit one of his own friends’ kids for sex.
Police say a boy from the neighborhood went to James Campbell’s home to play with his kids.
Once inside, Campbell allegedly asked the boy to expose himself. Police say Campbell is a registered sex offender.
He was convicted 25 years ago of sexual battery of a child less than 12 years of age. He now faces new charges of soliciting a minor for lewd or lascivious conduct.
