A Charlotte County man who was convicted in the murder of a 7-11 convenience store clerk in Punta Gorda wants a retrial. An attorney filed a motion on behalf of Michael Russo who was found guilty earlier this month in the death of Kyle Farishian. Prosecutors say Russo shot and killed Farishian inside the 7-11 on Bal Harbour Drive in November 2015. They also claim Russo then set the store on fire to cover up his crime. He now faces life in prison. A judge will make a decision on Wednesday’s motion by July 17.
