The Sarasota County Fire Department conducted a prescribed burn at Carlton Reserve on Thursday. The Fire Department coordinated the burn with Sarasota County Parks, Recreation and Natural Resources. After more than 8800 fire incidents across the county last year, officials say controlled burns like yesterday’s ensure the public stays safe from wildfires.
