Another massive sewage and wastewater spill happened on the Suncoast, this time in Venice.

On Wednesday afternoon, construction crews working along Jacaranda Boulevard, between Border Road and Laurel Road hit a 16-inch sewage main, causing it to spill more than 400,000 gallons.

County crews were able to shut off the lift stations, but not before the holding put was loaded with sewage. It took nearly 12 hours to repair the main and restart the lift stations.
