A change is coming to the drawbridges in Manatee and Sarasota Counties. Boaters will likely have to wait a bit longer after the Coast Guard has reduced the number of bridge openings to just two per hour on the Cortez, Anna Maria, Stickney Point and Siesta Drive. Stickney Point and Siesta Bridges will open at the bottom and top of each hour, while Anna Maria and Cortez will open on the quarter hours. Maximum wait times could be as much as ten minutes, according to the Coast Guard.
