George Brown founded the company to turn sail boats into steam, and to build, repair, maintain, and store boats.
The Charlotte Sun reports the highlights include the placing of a plaque at the Community Hall, which once served as Brown’s workshop.
Brown ran the Steam Ways until 1945. He died six years later.
The ceremony begins at 9:45 tomorrow morning.
