A motorcycle accident in South Venice Friday left a man from Port Charlotte in the hospital. FHP says the crash happened on US 41 at Sunset Berach Drive. 65 year-old Michael Peter reportedly started skidding on his motorcycle as he attempted to slow down for a pickup truck in front of him. He laid the bike down and slid completely underneath that truck driven by 46 year-old Steve Reidel, of Sarasota. Troopers said Peter’s injuries were critical. His current condition is not known.
