
CITYWIDE BURN BAN IN EFFECT IN NORTH PORT
Due to extreme drought conditions and an increased wildfire threat, North Port Fire Rescue has enacted a citywide Outdoor Burn Ban, effective immediately under City Ordinance 26-28.
🔥 What’s Banned?
❌ No bonfires, campfires, or yard debris burning
❌ No fire pits or outdoor cooking pits
✅ What’s Allowed?
✔️ Grills (gas or charcoal) may be used, but please exercise extreme caution.
🔎 Current Fire Conditions:
🔸 Rainfall is 1.5 inches below average
🔸 Drought Index: 586 (on a scale of 0-800)
🔸 Fire danger: High to Very High
🔸 No significant rain expected in the near future
This ban will remain in effect until further notice to help prevent wildfires and protect the community.
