The  Choral Artists of Sarasota are in France to participate in commemoration of the 80th Anniversary of D Day events throughout the country.

Forty Choral Artists singers will travel to France accompanied by fifty non-singing friends of the organization. After performing in the official commemoration ceremonies at the Normandy and Brittany American Cemeteries. The Chorus will perform in the town square of Sainte-Mère-Église to celebrate the first village liberated on D-Day. Following performances in Normandy, the group travels to Paris where Choral Artists of Sarasota will present a concert at La Madeleine church.

“There’s an emotional factor that we just can’t even comprehend at this point,” said Joseph Holt, the organization’s artistic director. “But I think everyone who’s singing in this group is certainly very excited, very honored, very humbled to be a part of these ceremonies.

The choir will also have a featured moment during the laying of a wreath at anniversary ceremonies on June 6.
