Sarasota and Charlotte Counties are working out an agreement for staffing and security at shelters in the event of an evacuation.
County leaders are hammering out details of a pair of agreements- one, to take in medically dependent evacuees from Charlotte County if residents are forced from their homes.
The second would pull staffing at Sarasota Co. shelter from Charlotte County staff as well as School District staff, in addition to using law enforcement for security and fire rescue for emergency medical issues.
