The Charlotte County Sheriffs Office released a statement with the facts regarding the cyber attack that effected the Colonial Pipeline on May 7th causing a gas shortage in some areas of the country.
Authorities want residents to know that he Colonial Pipeline does NOT supply south Florida with fuel. 90% of Florida’s fuel supply flows in through the ports on cargo ships and there is NO need to hoard gasoline.

The Colonial Pipeline was hit with a ransomware attack on May 7th. Ransomware is a type of malware –used to scramble a company’s computer data and hold it hostage until a ransom is paid. ( basically, they were hacked)The pipeline is expected to be back near normal at the end of this week.so what should you do? Fill up your vehicle’s tank as you normally would. Don’t panic buy.
