Drew St. Angelo, 25, has been handed a 13-year prison sentence for his involvement in a fatal crash in Charlotte County. The incident, which occurred on March 3, 2023, on Interstate 75 near mile marker 153, resulted in the death of a 67-year-old driver.

Reports from the Florida Highway Patrol revealed that St. Angelo was driving a rented Dodge Charger at a staggering speed of 129 mph while under the influence of fentanyl. The collision involved the Charger rear-ending a 2013 Hyundai Tucson, leading to the death of the Tucson’s driver. The impact also caused damage to a 2023 Kia Sportage and nearby property. Notably, two family members of the victim were inside the Sportage at the time of the crash.

Following the investigation, St. Angelo was arrested for DUI manslaughter and vehicular homicide. On February 27, he was sentenced to 13 years in prison and additionally ordered to serve seven years of probation.
