Hurricane Milton
- Evacuations have been ordered for residents in Red Zone-A and Orange Zone-B. The evacuation also includes residents in any zone living in mobile and manufactured homes.
- Emergency Management news conference scheduled on Facebook at 2:15 p.m. on Tuesday
- Open shelters are:
- Kingsway Elementary School, 23300 Quasar Blvd., in Port Charlotte
- Harold Avenue Recreation Center, 23400 Harold Ave., in Port Charlotte
- Solid Waste Tuesday, Oct. 8:
- Residential curbside collection will occur as scheduled
- Charlotte County transfer facilities will be open 9 a.m. to 4:45 p.m.
- Charlotte County landfill will be open 7 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
- Solid Waste Wednesday, Oct. 9: Suspended
- Charlotte County Offices & Facilities Closed until Thursday
- Clerk of the Circuit Court, Property Appraiser and Tax Collector Close Closed
- Supervisor of Elections on Monday are subject to change
- Charlotte County Public Schools closed Monday-Thursday
- Charlotte County Transit Operations Suspended Monday-Thursday
- Charlotte County has declared a Local State of Emergency for Tropical Storm Milton
