Charlotte County Florida
Private well testing has been extended through Thurs. Oct. 27! If you are concerned your private well may have been contaminated by the flooding from Hurricane Ian, you can test your water at no cost to you through Oct. 27.

1. Pick up a kit from the Department of Health in Charlotte County Environmental Health office, 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m. 1100 Loveland Blvd., Port Charlotte.
2. Follow the directions on the kit’s instruction sheet.
3. Take the water sample to the Benchmark Private Well Testing Laboratory, 1001 Corporate Ave., Suite 102, North Port before 3 p.m., Mon.-Thurs. The lab is located at 1001 Corporate Ave., Suite 102, North Port.
