Drivers along a few routes in Charlotte County should be on the lookout for an increased police presence over the next week or so. A release Sunday from the Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office says deputies will pay special attention to traffic in speed and traffic light enforcement zones. Those speed zones will be in Port Charlotte on Midway Blvd from Kings Highway to Tamiami Trail and in Punta Gorda near the intersection of State Road 31 and County Road 74. Traffic light enforcement zones will be at a pair of Port Charlotte intersections- Harbor Blvd and Tamiami Trail and State Road 776 and Tamiami Trail.
