Charlotte County officials are investigating what they’re calling the largest wastewater spill so far this year.

At least 160,000 gallons of raw wastewater made its way out of a broken pipe last week in the 6400 block of Coliseum Boulevard in the Gardens of Gulf Cove subdivison between Port Charlotte and Englewood.

The Florida Department of Environmental Protection says it’s investigating the April 18th incident. County crews say the line was repaired the next day.
