Charlotte County Sheriffs Deputies made one of the easier arrests they’ve had in quite some time.
It happened on Saturday, when a semi truck driver found all four batteries missing from under the hood at the Pilot truck stop on Jones Loop Road.
A clerk inside told the victim that he had seen a man pushing a shopping cart with four batteries in it just minutes before.
The alleged thief, Anthony Kochanowski, was found immediately outside of the store and tried to run off.
Deputies arrived and stopped him as he walked away and found a small bag with tools on his person. He now faces a trio of charges including grand theft.
