Sheriffs offices around the state took part in a multi-agency task force called Operation Spring Cleaning.
The goal was to round up drug traffickers, their weapons, and their product. Statewide, nearly 5,000 people were arrested.
More than 1600 guns were seized, and more than 27,000 POUNDS of controlled substances were taken off the streets.
In Charlotte County alone, 98 people were arrested on drug trafficking charges, deputies seized 10 pounds of drugs and 4 guns.
