Charlotte County commissioners are asking lawyers to effectively kill a deal that would have given a more than 3 and a half acre parcel of land to Sunseeker.

The 2018 proposal would have seen Sunseeker take over the property in exchange for building a public garage, among other committments.

The land in question is the old Harbor Inn, which was destroyed 14 years ago by Hurricane Charley.
Allegiant, the parent company of Sunseeker, told The Sun over the weekend that it was still interested in the property- the county is expected to send a letter ending the company’s letter of intent to purchase the land on US-41 and Melbourne St.
