An Englewood man has been arrested in connection with a March drug overdose. Back on March 28th, deputies were called to the area of Egerton Circle and Wexford Lane on calls of a man lying face down on the side of the road. Based on surveillance video from a nearby gas station, they found the victim had met with 38-year old John Michels just moments before he was found dead. This week, the Medical Examiner’s Office discovered the victim died because of intoxication by carfentanil, an opioid derivative 10,000 times more potent than morphine. Michels later admitted to police that he he provided the victim with the drug before his death.
