A heads-up for motorists in Charlotte County. The Sheriff’s Office has announced where it will pay special attention to traffic enforcement from now through Sunday. Sheriff’s deputies will be looking for speeders in Port Charlotte on Kings Highway and Midway Boulevard and on Vincent Avenue; and in Punta Gorda at Bermont Road and State Road 31. They’ll be watching for red-light runners in Port Charlotte at Tamiami Trail and Harborview Boulevard and at Kings Highway and Peachland Boulevard. According to the Department of Highway Safety & Motor Vehicles, Charlotte County has had no vehicle deaths so far this year; there were two deaths this same time last year.
