The Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a shooting that occurred early Monday morning on Lakeshore Circle.
The incident took place at a home in the 2400 block of Lakeshore Circle, which has since been secured by authorities.
Sheriff’s Office Public Information Officer Chris Hall provided an update after speaking with the Major Case Unit. He stated, “At this time, the Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office is executing a search warrant at the scene as part of our investigation into the discharge of a firearm at this location. Two individuals sustained non-life-threatening injuries and are currently receiving medical treatment. All parties involved are accounted for, and the individual who discharged the firearm has been cooperative throughout our response.”
Deputies have assured the nearby community that there is no ongoing danger, although they will maintain a presence at the scene throughout the morning.
The identities of the injured individuals have not been released, but deputies confirmed that their injuries are non-life-threatening.
