A Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office school resource deputy has resigned after he allegedly showed up to a Sheriff Explorers event drunk.
Deputy First Class Joshua Muse was helping pack canned food for the post office when dispatchers said he sounded intoxicated.
Two deputies went to the St Vincent de Paul Center and said Muse smelled of alcohol, showed signs of intoxication, and had slurred speech. A blood alcohol test showed him at more than three times the legal limit to drive.
