The Florida Sheriff’s Risk Management Fund has recognized the Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office for “excellence in labor relations and ethics.”
The sheriff’s office has received attention for trying to reduce and control losses.
The fund provides this award to sheriff’s offices that participate in the Florida Sheriffs Self-Insurance Program.
Its recipients have the lowest labor-related claims frequency and loss severity for their sizes.
Those receiving the award also must treat employees fairly and obey labor laws.
