The Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office has announced that it will pay special attention to traffic enforcement at the following locations this week. Deputies will be watching for speeders in Port Charlotte on South McCall Road between David Boulevard and Toledo Blade Boulevard and on Peachland Boulevard between Cochran Boulevard and Harbor Boulevard. And they’ll be watching for red-light runners in Port Charlotte at Tamiami Trail and Veteran’s Boulevard and at South McCall Road and Gillot Boulevard. According to the Department of Highway Safety & Motor Vehicles, Charlotte County has zero vehicle deaths so far this year; there was one death this same time last year.
