A Bonita Springs man’s car troubles were mistaken for a bomb threat Thursday morning. The Bonita Springs Fire Department initially got a report of a bomb inside of a car, but upon investigation law enforcement found that there wasn’t a bomb involved at all. The fire department and the Lee County Sheriff’s Office were at the intersection of Hunters Ridge Boulevard and Bonita Beach Road. After inspecting the car, deputies found that “extra wires” found in the engine caused the situation to be mistaken for a bomb threat, Smoke was coming from the driver’s engine. Both roads were blocked off but have since reopened.
