A major sponsor has pulled it’s sponsorship of Venice High School following the firing of head coach John Peacock.

He was fired last month after liking an allegedly racist tweet targeting Braden River football Coach Curt Bradley. But Principal Eric Jackson told ABC-7 that was the tip on the iceberg after “a series of missteps that lead to this outcome.”

Since his removal from the sidelines, a major sponsor- Bill Buck Chevrolet- pulled its support from the program. The dealership’s owner, Robyn Calkins, told the TV station she hopes the dealership leaving and her starting an online petition to reinstate Peacock will change the principal’s mind.
