A drunk Cape Coral woman was arrested Tuesday after a slew of hit-and-runs.
On Monday, Cape police initially responded to a report of a hit-and-run crash on Del Prado Boulevard South in front of the Cape Coral Hospital. A white Chrysler SUV had rear-ended another vehicle while speeding, then drove off southbound. The Chrysler then tried to turn into the Del Prado Mall but didn’t make the turn, losing control and crashing into the marquee sign at the parking lot entrance. Nhaima Rivera, 34, then ran from the crash and away from a police officer. She ran into traffic, was almost hit and refused orders to get on the ground. Rivera ran at the officer while screaming obscenities, and the officer had to use his taser to detain her.
