The Cape Coral Police Department partnered with the National Insurance Crime Bureau, Fort Myers Police Department, Lee County Sheriff’s Office and representatives from insurance companies to crack down on drivers with fraudulent or no insurance. From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., police conducted 75 traffic stops, one of which ended in arrest. The reason for this operation was to discipline uninsured drivers who impact others financially.
