The Venice Police Department has identified the man found deceased at the South Jetty Thursday night as 49-year-old David Paul Marchione, While officers responded to the scene around 8 p.m., dispatch advised that the Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office currently had a missing person report for Marchione, reported by family members. The case is still an active investigation, but the scene investigation indicates the manner of death is consistent with suicide and no signs of foul play were indicated.
