An $18 million construction project is underway on the Venice Bypass. Construction crews have been working on the project between Gulf Coast Boulevard and Center Road along U.S. 41 since March. The Florida Department of Transportation is widening the road from four to six lanes, creating a new drainage and storm water system, improving lighting on the road, as well as adding bike lanes and sidewalks.
FDOT said the project is on schedule and will be completed by spring of 2021.
