North Port is mourning the death of Valerie Duncan who with her husband owned Abbe’s Donuts for more than 35 years.
The shop on Tamiami Trail was named after Valerie’s parent’s last name.
The Sun reports Valerie had battled cancer and it went into remission, but returned a month ago.
Funeral arrangements are pending.
