A state audit of the Sarasota County School District is raising questions about some record-keeping.

The audit done by the state’s auditor general looked at the district’s spending last school year and found the district unable to justify certain construction costs.

Specifically, costs involved with the building of the Suncoast Technical College’s North Port campus that could not be verified with the construction company.

Of the more than $1.2M in costs, nearly a third of that could not be confirmed through records.
