An Arcadia woman was killed in a crash along State Road 70 in Manatee County. According to a report from the FHP, 49-year old Laura L. Justice, was pronounced dead on the scene of the head-on collision near the Myakka Church of God east of M and J Road around 7:30 a.m. Monday.
Justice was traveling westbound when she was hit by an eastbound SUV being driven by a Tampa woman. A report says the SUV failed to slow when a truck turned into the church, causing it to swerve into oncoming traffic. The Tampa woman was taken to Sarasota Memorial Hospital in critical condition and cited for improper passing.
