Apartment rents are still on the rise in Southwest Florida, but in some cities the increases are smaller than Florida and U.S. averages. The median rent for a two-bedroom apartment in Sarasota was $1,380 a month, $200 more than the average price in Florida. Rents across the region ranged from anywhere from $560 for a one-bedroom unit in Englewood to $1,850 for a two-bedroom in Longboat Key. It was the eighth straight month the city posted year-over-year rent hikes, following a decline in January.
