Gov. Rick Scott signed a bill into law Thursday aimed at increasing penalties for animal abusers. The bill is called Ponce’s Law and will allow a judge to eliminate the option of someone convicted of animal abuse of owning an animal in the future. It will also increase the penalties, such as jail time.
