The only air carrier at Punta Gorda Airport is in the midst of a potential pilot walkout.
Pilots working for Allegiant Air yesterday voted to authorize a strike as negotiations continue between the union and airline over a scheduling system.
The union says Allegiant Air has pilots use a scheduling system that they say disregards pilots’ seniority and preferences, going against a previous contract.
The strike authorization does not mean pilots are walking off the job right now, only that the union can initiate a strike at any time if they continue to remain at an impasse.
