Long the darling of Punta Gorda Airport, Allegiant Air has now begun more local service..flying into Sarasota/Bradenton airport. The first ever-Allegiant flight to Sarasota touched down on Wednesday morning, as the airline begins year-round nonstop service to Cincinnati, Indianapolis and Pittsburgh. Airline officials say despite the close proximity of Punta Gorda and Sarasota/Bradenton, no service is expected to be canceled out of the Charlotte County airport.
