It appears a 72-year-old Sarasota man was drunk when he crashed his scooter and died from the accident. The accident happened Monday evening around eight when Robert Boggs was riding when his scooter hit a ditch, causing the accident. Boggs was not wearing a helmet and was thrown from the scooter. Florida Highway Patrol says alcohol was a factor and Boggs died at the scene.
