Attorney General Pam Bondi’s office is investigating a trio of debris removal companies for unfair business practices. In a statement Wednesday, Bondi said, “Sitting debris is a health and safety hazard and needs to be removed as soon as possible — but instead of doing their jobs and helping Floridians recover, apparently some contractors are delaying the work or requesting higher rates.” Three removal companies- Ceres Environmental Services, AshBritt Inc. and DRC Emergency Services- are now being investigated. If found guilty, they could face heavy fines or lose their state license. Sarasota Co. officials said Tuesday they expect storm cleanup to continue likely through the end of the year.
