Just one day after the city of Venice lost a court battle against a home developer, that same developer- Neal Communities- announced it’s purchased 450 acres off Fruitville Road and Lorraine Road in Sarasota County.
The Windward at Lakewood Ranch will have 900 homes- a combination of villas, single-family, and townhomes.
A company spokesperson told ABC-7 yesterday that there will be affordable housing mixed in with the development.
Ground is expected to be broken within the next 60-90 days.
